As sirens sound over booming drums, a sense of doom fills Downlink’s new track. With elements of hardstyle and riddim in the drop, it’s clear that the threat is imminent. The sound design digs deep into the darker crevices of the human psyche and drums up visions of the inevitable apocalypse. Not a track for the easily frightened but definitely a track for headbangers with an affinity for the darker side of EDM, “Threat” is as visceral as it is visual.
