Charlee Remitz – My Worst

Back in June we were mystified by Charlee's To Tell You The Truth – a pulsing alt-pop triumph that shunned trends and transcended anything of the genre we'd heard for some time. She showed great promise for the future and our appetites were whet for things to come, and our expectations have been both met and exceeded with the latest, My Worst.

Her ear for melody and emotionally potent vocal tone seamlessly transfers into this swaggering hip hop crossover. A contemporary bass heavy production sets a palpable backbone for Charlee to show her fierce, no-holds-barred attitude, displaying another dimension to her talent executed with the same masterful poise as To Tell You The Truth. With two tracks that are wildly different yet distinctly Charlee, we're excited to hear more from her on her upcoming sophomore album Sad Girl Music coming later this year.

Keen for an insight behind My Worst, Charlee shared this backstory to it “I would never plainly describe myself as a writer. I’m more of a rewriter. I write and rewrite and agonize over lyrics, trying to pump as much meaning and profundity into them as I can. But in the instance of “My Worst,” I was just seeing red. Simple as that. My universe had turned crimson. I was furious. There was no need for massive rumination—anger happens to be one of the most inspiring and fuelling emotions of them all, and I let it have its way with me.”
