Out now on EDM Sauce Copyright Free Records is a new single by Phillip Berry titled “Dancing In The Darkness.” Earlier this week, we had the chance to sit down with the upcoming producer about his single on EDM Sauce Copyright Free Records “Dancing In The Darkness.”
How did you Create Dancing In The Darkness?
Well I was doing my weekly Feedback Livestream I do for the Fruity Group Chat Community, where I listen to their music and give tips and tricks and just general feedback. Joel Aka Contacreast sent me one of his songs and I was blown away. I told him it was awesome and he belonged on a big label somewhere 😊 He later contacted me after the stream letting me know how he loves the idea of the streams and etc and asked if I produced music as well. So, of course, I sent him all my unreleased music lol it’s a little embarrassing to be honest. We were then sending songs back and forth and Joel sent one and it had amazing vocals on it, I was like who is the singer he’s amazing! Joel humbly said oh that’s mine and I was like woah you produce and sing? I had been holding off sending the last song to him until I heard his voice. So I sent the track and he instantly sent me a video back with the melody idea for the vocals and it just clicked! I’m very grateful and it's crazy how things just happen like that in life <3
What’s the story behind the Emotion and Lyrics?
Well the story is about how hard it is physically and emotionally for an Artist, to spend countless hours creating something the world can enjoy and stand out from the rest. In the song, the Artist is so focused on his career. He stays in creative mode and basically checks out from reality and overlooks all the great people, family and even his own personal relationship for his fans and by the time he looks up She’s gone and moved on. So now he’s got to dance in the darkness alone never holding her hand again and all he has are memories of what they used to be. Its pretty emotional and I’m personally a sucker for music like this!
Who are your biggest inspirations right now and when’s new music coming?
My biggest inspiration right now and has been for a while is Illenium he tells a story with every song he makes and it's so raw and emotional and I truly appreciate that kind of music ❤ His new song Take You Down is amazing!
I do have about 5-6 songs finished but looking for vocals on all of them so when I get those ill start sending out to labels! 😊
How would you define your style?
I would say its in between Melodic Future Bass And Chill So I call it Melodic Chill
