We had a chance to catch up with Tim on all things upcoming, and what inspires him. Check it out below after the jump!

What inspires you when you’re producing a new song?

It truly depends on the context. I can be in a studio having a session with 2 or 3 songwriters, then it’s all about how I can create the magic, how we click with each other and bring out our best. You know pretty fast if this is going to be a productive session, most songs come to life within the first 30 minutes of writing.

A different situation would be when I get assigned a specific project. In this case I first try to find out the direction the song should take. After that I build all the musical elements needed to bring life to it. Every instrument, every effect has a purpose which means there’s always a lof of thinking behind everything.

Ultimately inspiration comes from life experiences, memories, emotions, anything that makes us human, then in order to let your creativity out it’s a question of taping into all these.

When did you know you wanted to be a producer?

I understood I wanted to become a record producer in the the more traditional sense of it, 2 years ago. At that time I was in London with a label manager friend and we were discussing my career as an artist, it was a turning point in my life.

I actually started back in 2010 as a Dj/Producer under the alias Enzo Darren. I had a couple successes with songs like ‘Nola', ‘Adonis feat. Delaney Jane', a few Beatport Top 100’s, good support from Nicky Romero, Tiesto, Knife Party etc … .

Ferry Corsten with his Label Flashover Recordings and Enhanced Music Label were always very supportive of my songs.

But one day I realized I needed change, that I needed to open my range and not get stuck in making progressive/big room music. To be honest being an artist per say wasn’t exactly what I wanted or needed in my life. That’s when I turned record producer for other artists.

My work now ranges from Pop to Reggaeton, collaborating with international artists such as Lexy Panterra, Jenn Morel, Claydee, Cammora. The song ‘Dame Dame' by Claydee reached 40 Millions Youtube views not so long ago. I guess I made the right choice.

What track have you been listening to on repeat lately?

There are quite a few songs I’ve been obsessed with. For instance I believe that ‘Hurt You' by The Weeknd is a brilliant song. The songwriting is top notch, let’s not even talk about the emotional level of this song…through the roof.
But the one song of 2018 I keep getting back to is ‘X’ by Nicky Jam and J Balvin. There’s such a sense of craft and powerful minimalism. If a song makes you want to nod your head for no reason, or makes you want to stand up and dance it means everything.

If you could work with anyone, who would it be and why?

The Weeknd, definitely! He’s a songwriter – singer – performer genius. Not many artists can achieve the level of truth he reaches in his music. There’s an instant emotional connection to his records, a deep authenticity.
But there are many many other singers I’d like to collaborate with. Some are in the works…but I can’t reveal anything yet!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Let’s be real, I don’t even know where I’m going to be in a month from now ahah. But my goal is to keep building my producer career, work with amazing talents and artists, write beautiful songs. I’m also developing a new company that revolves around Music Production. It might become a main focus within the next 10 years…who knows!

Family is very important to me as well, so hopefully I will be married and have kids too.

And what’s next for you?

I’m currently working on 4 or 5 projects for artists in the US and Europe. You may call me workaholic ahah, but in the end of the day the passion speaks louder than the rest. Expect fresh releases in the coming months.
