Holy Smokes, Batman! Steve Aoki has just dropped what could possibly be his best big room track in YEARS with “Hoovela”, a massive collab with Croatian big room duo TWIIG. On top of that, we can also confirm here at EDM Sauce, that this track will indeed be on Aoki's upcoming Neon Future III album.
“Hoovela” is straight FIRE right from the get-go with crashing synths and a massive drumline. “Hoovela” then follows the modern big room build up with a fist pumping anthemic big room drop that will blow the pictures off your wall. This is old school Big Room. This brings me back to the sounds of early 2010's Ultra's. This is MASSIVE.
Aoki’s ambitious Neon Future series (released via Ultra Music/Dim Mak) is an ongoing thread of connected semi-concept albums that delve into Aoki’s deep interest in futurism through technology and explores timely themes of singularity, biotechnology, electronic immortality and the symbiotic relationship between man and machine. Officially launched in 2014 with the inaugural installment, Neon Future I (certified gold by the RIAA), followed by Neon Future II (2015), the series features high-profile collaborations with artists from across multiple genres including will.i.am, Linkin Park, Snoop Dogg, Fall Out Boy and others, as well as leading figures in pop culture and technology including Google’s Director of Engineering Ray Kurzweil, theoretical physicist and Nobel laureate Kip Thorne and director/producer J.J. Abrams.
Tying into the forthcoming Neon Future III, Aoki has partnered with Impact Theory and Eisner Award winner Jim Krueger (DC Comics “Justice,” Marvel “Earth X,” “X-Men, “The Avengers”) to create NEON FUTURE, a new comic book series that will be released this weekend at the 2018 New York Comic Con. An innovative multi platform approach, the Neon Future series fully encompasses all of Aoki’s multimedia properties, from his music, videos and social media…depicting Aoki in various stages of his physical transformation from man to machine.
