David Guetta has clearly been a busy man this week. Today he has not only released one of the best remixes of the year with his rework of Calvin Harris' ‘Promises' but also a collaboration alongside Drum and Bass legend, Netsky. In an unexpected move, Guetta and Netsky have taken on a classic rock anthem for their latest release.
David Guetta & Netsky – ‘Ice Cold'
‘Ice Cold' relies heavily on samples from Foreigner's iconic hit, ‘Cold As Ice'. While the original is chopped and screwed to an almost unrecognizable state, it does serve as the platform which this tune is built upon.
If I am being brutally honest I am not sure how well this track really works. It is an interesting idea, and one that did have a lot of potential but something about it missed the mark a bit. Throw some dubstep over a chopped up classic rock track isn't the answer for me this time around.
While I love both Netsky and Guetta independently I was hoping for a bit more on this unanticipated collaboration. Take a listen below and see if I'm the one who's wrong about this one.
