The Marshmello track that started it all for many fans, “Alone”, is creeping up on turning three years old. Earlier this week, “Alone” hit the legendary 1 billion views mark on YouTube. Marshmello’s track now joins the ‘billion views club' alongside songs like PSY’s “Gangnam Style”, Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again” and Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito”.
Like many of Marshmello’s videos following “Alone”, it told a story. As you’d expect from the title, the video and lyrics were fairly sad, yet the beat was upbeat. That balance, along with the mystery of the then up-and-coming producer, were contributing factors in Marshmello’s new achievement.
Congrats to Marshmello on hitting this amazing milestone!
