News broke earlier this week that REZZ was working on a remix from a track off of Porter Robinson's renowned album, Worlds. As outlets started to report on the development, REZZ confided in her fans Facebook group, The Cult of REZZ, that the remix was, in fact, for Porter's track – ‘Divinity'.
Rezz was not taking on an easy track to remix. While some artists such as Odesza have delivered near iconic edits of the song, the original is so hallowed, gorgeous and inviting that reworking it comes with a set of expectations.
Porter Robinson – Divinity (REZZ Remix)
REZZ also let her Cult know that she would be debuting the first version of the remix at her show over the weekend at New City Gas. One fan was in attendance and luckily enough to capture the moment when REZZ dropped the haunting edit.
It is about what you might expect from REZZ at this point in the game – excellence. Her take on ‘Divinity' is expectedly dark, ominous but balanced. The airy, ethereal nature of ‘Divinity' shines through in melodic breaks before being shredded by the intense bass kicks and sinister nature of REZZ.
This makes for a truly captivating song where forces of light and dark seem to be fighting each other back and forth. Naturally, we cannot wait until this one is released in full. Check out the video below.
