After many months of speculation, it has been confirmed that the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will not be happening in 2019. Minutes from an Okeechobee County Board of Commissioners meeting confirmed the rumor.
Earlier this year, OMF's parent company, Soundslinger LLC, shut down. Employees were laid off and there was talk of a new company taking over. The Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival account even tweeted “hang in there…info coming soon #omf2019” around the same time as the shutdown. This tweet caused a lot of confusion and hoping that Okeechobee would see 2019.
Okeechobee seemed to be becoming one of the top new festivals to catch every year. In the short time the festival was alive, it saw performances such as Travis Scott, Snoop Dogg, Bassnectar and more. The festival offered multiple workshops and experiences that really set itself apart.
Now, after an Okeechobee County Board of Commissioners meeting, The Festive Owl has released minutes clearly outlining that there will be no festival in 2019.

There is still hope for 2020, but for now, we will have to find something to hold us over.
