Australian duo Midnight Pool Party dropped a new record “Slow Down” recently and it is sick. The groovy new tune which features a guest key-solo appearance from their friend Allan McConnell of Close Counters and it is rad. returned with a very cool new tune called ‘Stand A Chance’, which also came with news of their brand – new ep ‘MOTIONS’, and this week they are excited to give us another little taste of that ep with the infections disco – house sound of ‘Slow Down’. This was one of those tracks that came together quite easil y and in no time at all. The idea started with Darren Morilla as he wrote the hoo k and started with the lyrics , and after showing it to Olive r Dela Cruz the next day they jumped straight into fleshing it out , and t hey knew straight away that this was going to set a good pace for the new ep.
“I actually wrote the hook and demo one night after a had a few Glasses of wine. I remember having fun writing it coz I was dancing along to it by myself in my room. As soon as Ollie jumped on the track, we smashed out the production and we knew it was one for the ep.” – Darren Morilla
“The song came together quite naturally, and keeping with the theme of “Motion”, we wanted the track to continually evolve with each section. This song also features some extra keys from our good mate Allan (Close Counters), who shows off his solo skills and musical theory. His part really elevated the track to another level” – Oliver Dela Cruz
