With an unashamedly distinctive approach to his bass music production, we're pleased to have grabbed the mighty Bishu for Musical Guilty Pleasures this week. He just dropped a new single for Quality Goods and has lots more in the pipeline for 2019.
Check out his selections below.
1) Skrillex – “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites”
Basically what made me passionate about electronic music in general. Super innovative and way ahead of its time, had never heard any music like it before at the time. Also reminds me of high school and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life (music).
Also really nostalgic for me. Would play it all the time with friends, still play it from time to time. deadmau5 was also like the first electronic artist I got into and what really put me on to the genre in general.
3) Flume – “Sleepless”
I didn’t even know what to categorise this song when I first heard it, sort of chiller electronic music. I was super into (and making) more EDM/festival music at the time I discovered Flume/Sleepless and am really happy he’s gotten as big as he has.
Or anything by Drake. I’m really into hiphop. One of my favourite rappers. Some people may hate because he’s so big but his delivery is so good and hooks are always amazing. Yeah, cant get enough. Draaaake. I'm also Canadian so I’m meant to Stan by default.
5) Hilltop Hoods – “The Nosebleed Section”
Aussies know this one. Been super into HTH for a long time, this is my timeless bop. Ima go listen to it rn. Thx Edm Sauce!
