Hi Andrew Canlon, how’s it going?
Fine, thank you.
To start, can you tell us about your experience at ADE this year?
It was all I imagined it to be and more. Everyone was so welcoming and open, and Amsterdam is such a beautiful city. There's nothing like it.
Was there a specific talk, performance, or workshop that really stood out for you?
Bonobo was phenomenal as always.
In your opinion, what makes ADE an unmissable event in the Electronic Music calendar?
In a digital world, you really can't pass up the opportunity to meet so many amazing people doing great things in the electronic world.
How would you describe the overall vibe of Amsterdam during ADE week to someone who hasn’t been?
It can be overwhelming at first, but the vibe is as high as it can be. There's an openness and spirit of true collaboration.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable moment at ADE for you?
I was producing a track in the lobby of the Pulitzer Hotel when a music executive who works with one of my idols approached me and offered the chance to meet him.
Were there any non-music-related activities in Amsterdam that added to your ADE experience?
I'm fortunate to have friends in Amsterdam who took my partner and me out for a boat ride on the canal. It was like something out of a movie. It's the best way to experience the city, which as an American, is everything you imagine Europe to be. It was absolutely surreal.
How would you say attending ADE has impacted your perspective on the Electronic Music scene?
Seeing so many passionate musicians and creators together in one place was hugely impactful for me. I came back home feeling tremendously motivated to keep going and stay true to myself and the music I love to make.
Did you meet anyone new at ADE that you’re excited to work with in the future?
Yes, I met several artists to discuss collaborations. I’ll keep the names to myself for now until it becomes official.
Finally, what was the most inspiring part of ADE for you this year?
I was most inspired by the energy and creativity of everyone I encountered, from artists to agents and innovators. There are so many amazing things happening in the Electronic Music industry, and it makes you feel like you're part of something truly special.
