TomorrowWorld took place on the mythical lands of Chattahoochee Hills just a week ago, and it's still on our minds. Why? Magic.
There are several reasons why the festival was worth it and possibly better than anything we've experienced (we gave you seven). But besides that, we'll be back next year to pass the magic on.
The stage production at TomorrowWorld was amongst the most impressive we've ever seen. The landscape – a 500 acre ranch – helped and added some fuel to that fire. Blowfish blew out fire, synchronized fountains shot up colored water, and trees lit up in different colors, taking shape and form to be more than just trees. Sounds crazy, right? That's because it was.
The Katsune stage was tucked away, almost hidden. Possibly the smallest stage, it was in the middle/entrance/nook of the forest. The decoration was simple – forest, trees, people, and candies hanging above the trees. The first time visiting this stage was right after sunset, when nighttime took shape. Feet away from the stage a dark area with trees whistled. Dark and forbidden looking, it was a vast empty space between two walkways. It was clear no one was meant to pass through here. Still, it somehow called us in and so we went, only to find the trees had been dressed. True Story.
Wrapped in fabrics and dressed with decorations such as dream catchers and cloths, it was a wonder that someone would take the time to actually decorate a part in the forest no one was supposed to come to. Or were they? One of the trees had a pocket hanging from it, similar to Mary Poppins bag. Inside the pocket were string. Strings that deemed to be tied up to the tree with a piece of cloth on which you were supposed to write a message. But in order to write one must have a pen, which none of did. We had come to a rave, after all. Well, ask the universe for a pen and you shall get a pen, from a tree. Digging deeper in the tree's pocket we found a permanent marker. Now all we needed was a paper to leave our imprint on the world. What would happen in our next grab would be surreal. An envelope with the words “Pass Me On” written on it arose, and inside it two papers – a blank one and one with a note.
Dear PLUR family,
Treat others like you would like to be treated …
-Respect-
Was this the universe talking to us? We chose to believe so, and so we wrote our own message and left it in the tree of life, taking the one we found along with us. Our intention is to pass it on, but when, where, and how? Those are questions that are yet to be answered, as the next chapter in the book of wisdom has yet to be written.
