The pioneering rock ‘n' roll musician who was part of The Velvet Underground and also a thriving solo artist has passed away on Sunday at the age of 71. Lou Reed was a rock pioneer whose “influence is one that there are really only a tiny handful of other figures who you can compare to him,” said Simon Vozick-Levinson of Rolling Stone.
