London producer Mat Zo released “Turn up the Funk” this week, which turned out to be a track that could easily grace the top-40 electronic scene that is slowly taking over the airwaves. But was it done to promote his new album Damage Control, or was it done ironically to mock the new fad in progressive house? The track itself isn’t exactly something that screams intricacy or production expertise. In fact, it’s downright boring. The steady buildup and bass drop that we have all heard a million times. Not only is the drop somewhat lacking…it’s in the form of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” If this new track isn’t a parody on the mass attention poorly produced electronic music is getting, not sure what exactly Mat Zo was thinking. Check it out below and let us know what you think!
