Living life to the fullest is something we all take for granted. What happens when you literally have a time frame for your life, do you give up or take control?
Shawn Sage is taking control. Recently diagnosed with stage IV cancer, his prognosis is not good. This does not hold him back from living life the way he wants, through music. Shawn is not allowing his diagnosis to take away from the fact that he is still alive. People who are against this music should take something from this.
Our culture has so much against it and people do not realize that we are in fact just here to have a good time. We all come from something different. We all have different battles that we face on a daily basis and sometimes these festivals and concerts are our only escape.
Shawn uploaded pictures to Instagram of his recent visit to Escape From Wonderland and they are worth 1,000 words. Shawn choses to live his life to be happy, and we should all take something from this. His spirit throughout this whole thing is what our generation lives by and stories like this reinforce why I take this music to heart. Shawn is calling this his “last rave,” and he is living it up to the absolute fullest. Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect throughout. You never know who is facing what; so be kind, help each other, and live your life.
We are behind Shawn throughout this whole process and we will pray for him everyday. Take some time out of your day to tell the ones you care for how much you love them. Never regret, always move forward, and throw it all on the dance floor. You only have one life, live it.
