According to the town supervisor Kelly Meyers, a proposal to hold EDC in Winston Farm, where Woodstock was held in 1994, has been denied.
“The Electric Daisy concert does not look like it’s going to happen,” Myers said. “There were some concerns about how to safely manage that and the Schaller family has had some concerns as well.”
Most of those concerns are related to the fact that the local fire and ambulance services do not feel they can safely provide services during this event. However, Meyers said there are other plans for live music concerts with camping in Winston Farm, which could include a yoga weekend with music, and a possible Octoberfest.
Fred Costello, the town's councilman, expressed that the concert was in its preliminary planning stages. He added that the town wants to cooperate with the groups planning those events and make sure they are a good fit for the community. Apparentely, EDC didn't make the cut as a proper fit event.
“The start and stops come as a result of their fleshing out an idea,” Costello said. “And, for whatever reason, along the way some of those ideas have not been practical.”
