What was originally a smooth, sensual, dim-the-lights R&B tune has now become a club-ready progressive house jam, courtesy of Sevag. And with this remix, Sevag is going to remind you that the “D” in EDM stands for “dance,” instead of “drop.” After a quick intro, the break brings Sevyn Streeter's verse paired along with a trance-inspired lead synth. The song progresses with Streeter and featured vocal guest Chris Brown trading lines, while progressive-inspired chords slowly creep in, but don't steal the spotlight. After a pitch-modulated buildup, the song doesn't go into a festival-destined, larger-than-life drop as one might expect from progressive house — instead, it drops into a strong groove that's meant for dancing rather than jumping. The dance-inducing groove- equipped with toms, reverbed claps and punchy chords- keeps going as Streeter and Brown sing the second verse, then the progressive chords come back even stronger at the second break and drop. It just comes to show that good dance music doesn't have to rely on a face-melting drop.
