Eventbrite recently released their EDM Fans Social Media Listening Study at SXSW this year after partnering with social media insights firm, Mashword. Eventbrite found that EDM fans are the main drivers of the EDM movement. As the industry continues to ponder what is driving the significant growth of the industry, it all comes down to you.
Here Eventbrite explored more than 70 million posts and social media conversations about EDM in 2013 and noticed that social media sharing for EDM fans was 6 times as high as the average Twitter user. EDM fans also tend to talk 30 percent more about concerts and festivals than other music fans.
“Dance lovers are super fans. Compared to other music fans, EDM fans propel the success of EDM events based on their love of live experiences and their extreme social networking behavior,” said Martina Wang, head of Music Marketing at Eventbrite.
