The 15 year old Kelvin Doe is an engineering whiz living in Sierra Leone who scoured the trash bins for spare parts in which he used to build batteries, transmitters and generations. The self-taught Kelvin created his own radio station where he broadcasts news and plays music under his alias, DJ Focus. When MIT discovered Kelvin, he was living in utter poverty.
