Earlier this week the dance community was saddened with the news that Frankie Knuckles had passed away. Knuckles played an influential role in dance music during the 70s, where his sets of mixing disco with European electronic music were one of the first of its kinds in in dance music scene in the United States. Becoming a celebrated icon in Chicago, he would go on to open up his own club, Power Plant, and also had a street named after him in 2005.”
