As Rock In Rio USA heads to Las Vegas, Nevada, the 80,000 person capacity festival announces that it will closely resemble Brazil's Rock in Rio theme. You can expect a “giant roulette-like Ferris Wheel,” a 400 foot zip line and a flying DJ booth. The festival will be held in a open-air venue on the Las Vegas Strip and to help make this dream come a reality, Rock In Rio has partnered with Las Vegas entertainment giants such as MGM Resorts International, Cirque du Soleil and Ron Burkle’s Yucaipa Companies.
“MGM, Cirque and Yucaipa will collectively invest $20 million for the construction of a permanent open-air venue, called City of Rock on 33 acres of land located near the corner of Sahara Ave.”
“Rock In Rio is every two years, so we have 2015, 2017 and 2019 guaranteed,” Justo says.
