The Chicago based duo X5ight have taken a departure from their usual progressive house sound. Their new single ‘Warp' is an adventure in sound design that they are calling ‘Dark House'. In a time when happy and euphoric Big Room rules the festival stages, X5ight has experimented with a much more aggressive and grungy style. ‘Warp' is filled with tension as the song builds steam as the melody progresses. Just as dramatic percussion reaches a breaking point the song explodes with a final drop that is different and exciting. It honestly takes some guts to experiment with sound design and put your name on the line with an attempt at innovation. Lucky for X5ight their first venture into the new sound is a clear success.
