L.A. duo Slander, comprised of west coast natives Derek Andersen & Scott Land, are an upcoming act who should be on your musical radar for many reasons. For starters, they are under Juke Life, an artist management company that also works with Bixel Boys and Bobby Puma and is starting to take over the game one release at a time. Reason number two, they've created their own sub-genre of music, and in the always-changing game of the Music Industry it is key to be an innovative artist, so in regards to that I have mad respect for these two dudes. Their latest release is a ‘heaven trap' remix of Seven Lions' collaborative track with Ellie Goulding called “Don't Leave,” and from the titled I can rightly assume you can guess it's sound; beautifully graceful. At times it has ambient layers that lead up to the breathing drop that oozes with trap-like drums, but besides that it isn't your typical hyphy trap record.. And that's probably why I enjoy it so much. Ellie Goulding's soothing vocals float perfectly over the chilled out new instrumental produced by Slander. Listen to the new remix below and be sure to snag the Free Download as well.
