Belgian producer Apashe‘s new two-track Golden Empire EP made quite the first impression for me. I was unaware of the upcoming producer's talent and style, but after continuously listening to these two records back to back this morning I can now proudly call myself a fan. Apasha is a sound design king and after you listen to his latest release below you'll understand exactly why I said that. The title track “Golden Empire” is a rare 6:00 flat, unlike your typical electronic ballad this song is constantly switching up between bass-infused sub-genres so although it is almost double the time of your typical electronic record that makes sense this time around because it is just that – NOT your typical electronic record. The second and final record of the project, “Sand Storm,” features guest verses from Montreal rap duo Odalisk alongside some wailing synths and a dnb-meets-dubstep sound desing similar to old school Skrillex. All in all a great new EP to check out if you've got some free time, stream below and support Apashe by copping the project on Beatport.
