The one and only trance god Dash Berlin closed out the festival at the main stage both this year and last year at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Nevada. For those of you who didn't get the chance to fully embrace the beauty that is Dash Berlin live, below there are two sets, the EDC2013 and EDC2014. Dash Berlin's set in 2013 set was absolutely mind blowing, and to be perfectly honest I'm not entirely sure if it was due to the expertly crafted remix of “Jar of Hearts” feat Christina Novelli, or the nostalgic drop of the song we all know and love “Sandstorm” by Darude.
This year, festival goers have claimed that his set didn't seem to have the same kick, jump, and bounce it as the 2013 one. Is this true? And if true, what was wrong with it?
As someone who attended both EDC2013 and EDC2014 sets by Dash Berlin, I think it's very possible that those criticising the set for not living up to standard was more about the mood of the crowd than the actual show content. This year there was a massive number of newcomers to the EDM scene as a whole, and I definitely noticed that at Dash's set there were lots of people in the crowd who looked lost and exhausted by the end of the night. As a listener, I didn't find his set to be radically different in style or lacking in skill or enthusiasm. It was a beautiful night and a great time.
