Swiping by people you aren't interested in has now entered the music space – with “Next” a new music discovery app from the founders of Tinder. Next allows you to swipe past artists and songs you don't like. Before you get all excited, this is limited to 10-20 second clips from artists live… not commercial music, since obviously that would violate tons of licensing rules which I'm sure the Tinder guys didn't get. It's not a very complex app and so far the reviews are mixed, but anything new in the music space that might push labels to realize that they could/should probably be using technology for their benefit is ultimately a win.
Available only on iTunes for now.
