The new single from Drum & Bass duo The Prototypes has just dropped on Viper Recordings and it's one that will get countless plays for the duration of summer. The pair, based in the UK, signed with the label late last year, and this is their second single to drop since then – with the mammoth “Pale Blue Dot” achieving great success a few months back.
“Don't Let Me Go” is a slice of sunshine, complete with euphoric vocals from Amy Pearson and old-school piano chords. It also shows a more melodic side to their sometimes uncompromising style of production. On the flip comes “Humanoid”, which stays true to the style of previous releases such as “Abyss” with a weighty bass line and intergalactic-style vocals on the intro.
This pair of tracks are certainly worth a listen, and set The Prototypes in good stead for their forthcoming debut LP, “City of Gold”, dropping later this year.
