As one of the great cities of the Midwest, and one of the veritable birthplaces of electronic music in the U.S., Chicago has more than their fair share of great tuneage come through, and North Coast Music Festival is ready to be no exception. Being put on in Union Park, of which you can see pictures below, the festival spans the last three days of August. Beginning big, the first night is set to close out with performances from Alesso and Bassnectar. Also of notable performance for the weekend will be Nicky Romero, Break Science, STS9, Snoop Dogg, Zeds Dead, Dada Life, GRiZ, The New Deal and Wick-it the Instigator.
This festival is set to have a heaping helping of great music, but I also look forward to hearing music that I haven't seen before, stuff like Washed Out and Midnight Conspiracy. Perhaps because of the nature of festivals, the ability to walk up and experience a 15 minute dose of a musician is a fantastic way of finding new tunes and new people. And if you don't necessarily dig the vibe, you can just walk away!
If you reside in the Central or Midwest regions, it would be worth your time to at least look into heading to this insane party in the heart of Chicago. On top of the already world class acts that are set to perform, there are also a multitude of after-parties that will coax the last bits of energy out of your body and onto the dance floor. Click here to see a list of officially recognized North Coast after-parties if you just didn't get enough groove on.
Tickets
Unfortunately, 3 day passes are already sold out but the VIP tickets as well as single day GA passes are still available and going for about $80 with service charge included. That being said, there is no need to fret as I am sure there are still plenty of passes being sold elsewhere online, hopefully for face value. Click here to see if you consider VIP worth it or to check out single day passes.
