Deniz Koyu has been involved in music in some way, shape, or form from a young age and it was destiny for him to be a part of it. Having just finished an electrifying set at Nocturnal Wonderland 2014, Deniz was still pumped as we at EDM Sauce got the chance to speak with him.
“It was amazing. I played Nocturnal two years ago when I first started playing in the States and this one was much better. I loved it.”
A DJ and producer, Deniz has had hits such as “Tung!” “Bong,” and “Follow You,” just to name a few. He’s a man who’s constantly growing with his music, making it better and spends hours honing his DJ skills.
“Music wise, I think my music is getting more energetic, and you spend so much time in the studio and you just evolve with your production techniques, so everything is getting better. I’m actually starting to change my musical direction. I want to get more melodic. I will continue to make the kind of tracks that you’re used to hearing from me, but will also try to do more vocal and melodic stuff. Anything that’s enjoyable. “
Having gained support from some of the biggest names in EDM, Deniz Koyu has become one in his own right, having big name artists such as Axwell, Calvin Harris, and Sebastian Ingrosso among some of his biggest fans.
“It’s amazing. Especially in the beginning when you start and you don’t know anybody, and suddenly these guys pop up and start playing your tracks and supporting you. It’s a dream come true. In the beginning you look up to these guys like they’re super heroes, but after a while you call them friends.”
With 2014 already a HUGE year for Deniz, he’s still hard at work and has high expectations for the remainder of this year, going into next and hints at what’s to come!
“In October, I have another track coming out with twoloud. It’s called “Going Down” and it’s coming out on Spinnin the first week of October. It’s very groovy and energetic, and I’m looking forward to this one. I’m working on lots of music, but mostly solo stuff. I’ve got two vocal tracks I’m working on right now. “Torn Apart” with Thomas Gold is still not out because we’re still tweaking it. Collaboration wise, I’m working on a couple but it’s to early to talk about them right now, but I think you’ll hear them early next year”
Between making new music and productions, Deniz is also touring and playing shows around the world. He’s constantly selling out venues as he electrifies the masses and gives them what’s sure to be a memorable performance.
“Shows are going to be exciting for the next couple of months. I’m doing lots of cool stuff like the Groove Cruise LA in October and I’m leaving for Asia in two weeks. I’m also doing TomorrowWorld too, which is really exciting.
With such a huge fan base, not just here in the States, but around the world, Deniz Koyu continues to do this for his fans. He’s stayed a humble man who continues to do what he loves. His fan base continues to grow and with everything he’s working on, there’s no end in sight.
“I just want to say thanks for all the support in the last 2 years and I’m really looking forward to what’s to come. It’s like a gift you get every day. It’s what energizes me and motivates me to get in the studio and produce new tracks. It’s the best thing and I hope to see you all at one of my shows.”
