The duo of Markus Schulz & Ferry Corsten known as The New World Punx are set to play an open-to-close set at Echostage in celebration of Glow's 15th anniversary. Glow has set the stage as the most successful dance music promotion company in the D.C. area. There'll be no supporting acts, Markus & Ferry will play open to close, running a 7-hour set from 9:00pm-4:00am.
“15 years ago, in March of 1999, a movement was created. It was nothing that Washington, DC had ever seen or experienced before. At last, electronic music fans had a place that they could go to on the weekends. What started once as a small party that had George Acosta playing at Zei Club on I Street, has now grown into the #1 place to dance at on the East Coast. We’ve grown up a lot since those days. We’ve had the pleasure to host the absolute best names in dance music in our venues. We’ve changed venues, from Zei, to Insomnia, to Fur, to Ibiza, back to Fur, to our current home, Echo. The music has changed. Our scene has changed. But, one thing has been kept current since 1999: we have always kept it our mission to produce both iconic and memorable events in the District.” -Glow
EDM Sauce got the exclusive from Ferry Corsten, who labeled Echostage as the “cradle of New World Punx”:
“I’ve been playing with Glow for 15 years. I’ve know them for as long as I’ve been playing in the States. To be part of their 15th anniversary feels like an honor, and it just makes sense. We’ve known each other for so long. Doing open to close with Markus, that’s what we really love. Markus is a 12-hour set monster already, he’s crazy. We both have our slightly individual styles, but together it fits in. It’s so much fun. Echostage was the first bigger event we did together. We both see Echostage as the cradle of New World Punx, in a way. We’re very happy to be part of that.” -Ferry Corsten
