This year, Deorro has reached a personal all time high on DJ Mag's top 100, ranking #19 on the list. With all the success Deorro has faced in the past year, many fans are shocked and saddened that the Melbourne bounce legend will be hanging up the towel on his career as a DJ.
Earlier this year, Deorro discussed why he cannot continue to DJ. He stated that DJing prevented him from spending time with his family, and that he wanted to be there for his young children, one of which is starting school. Deorro also wants to focus more on producing as well as further developing his label PandaFunk.
“Touring has blessed me with everything that I have… But now that I have everything I need, I also want to give the same thing to others… Don’t get me wrong, I love to DJ, I’m gonna miss it. I’m probably going to miss it two days after I go home but I’d rather miss DJing than my family.”
