Bixel Boys have always been the ones to take something familiar and push it into uncharted territory. This is especially true with their remix of R E A L by Le Youth not just because it’s a remix but because they essentially created a deep-complextro vibe, which is expressed by the stuttering vocal chops and the sporadic, varied synths that come together to create a funky groove, just as an old-school Porter Robinson track would. The Boys manage to bring everyone’s favorite samples and sounds that have been all the rage in todays most trending house music and cram it into one jam and it captivates to the very last beat. The LA duo rocked in 2014, and if this tune is any indicator, 2015 is going to truly be the year of the Bixel.
