Arkansas based duo, Drew Birch and Ian Gilley banned together in 2014 to create Recess, their old school, instrumental dominated group. Of the two singles produced, “The Brothel Gospel” is like a reemergence of GRiZ and Big Gigantic with the funk inspired sounds. While channeling the minds of Grant, Dom and Jeremy, Recess includes their flare but directs their own style to the focus on the guitar and keyboard, creating the jazzy sound that sets them apart. Recently being featured on All Good Records, where my attention was brought to their name, the two seem to be receiving the positive attention needed when just starting out.
