“It’s all about getting in the right mood to go to a party. We also wanted to give people a party anthem for the weekend and the upcoming summer festivals, a track which people can really go crazy on”
A few days ago, EDM Sauce posted about the dutch duo's latest track, ‘Fired Up', and I was able to chat with them via email about it. The track did not need much time to take the #1 spot on Beatport's Hard Dance Chart. It was released on February 2nd and hit #1 just a day later. It has been embraced by DJ's such as, Carnage, Diplo & Yellow Claw, who are all supporting it. Pretty impressive, and you'll know why after you listen to it.
How would you describe ‘Fired Up' to someone who may not have heard it?
“You can expect some heavy bass and strong leads together with pounding kicks on the drop. It’s all you would expect from a new LNY TNZ track”.
What was the process like?
“During the process of making the drop and melody sound together with Ruthless, we instantly knew we had to turn this into a straight bouncing crossover track, which means we wanted to add more flavors from other genres into it and see what happens. As you might know, we do not stick to one particular genre. In fact our motto is: ‘Fuck Genres’, so we always feel free to let other styles influence our tracks, which is fun and makes every production an original ‘fuck genres' track. We got to work with The Kemist for the vocals on this one. The Kemist is a very talented singer and songwriter who added a unique vocal part to the track that made it even more banging!”
LNY TNZ have a very unique style that combines Hardstyle, Trap and EDM. Their sound came about after getting hooked on trap a while ago, and they began to experiment a lot with combining both trap and hardstyle. They were even inspired by some twerk influences, while working on their ‘W.O.L.F.’ remix for Yellow Claw, which turned out to become a hardstyle-twerk beat. Speaking on their style, “It’s all about being creative and innovative so we think as long as you are able to think outside the box, you are capable of renewing your sounds. It feels good not having to stick to a particular genre, basically it was impossible to do years ago. We think the time is now to push boundaries and focus on the crossover sounds, either by solo productions or collaborations”.
As for what's next for LNY TNZ, they are are working on several projects with a wide range of producers from different genres. They cannot say too much about it yet, but you can expect some innovative and refreshing collaborations with some artists from different music scenes, so prepare yourself!
