Jaden Smith is no stranger to the spotlight, but this time the son of world-famous actor Will Smith is involved in a controversial matter related to plagiarism on his “This is the Album” EP.
Here's a timeline of the events:
1. Jaden Smith debuts “This is the Album” EP on Feb. 5.
2. Reviews start falling in. Boombox calls it “The effort plays as an excursion through the mind of Jaden, who raps and wails on top of the sparse production with impressive results. BET calls it “unsurprisingly melancholy, although it shows more in the growth department for the budding young rhymer.” Pigeons & Planes called it, “Solid production provided by Daniel D’Artiste throughout.”
3. Approximately 20 days later, outlets such as Trap Style report “Jaden Smith and Willom Smith just stole a Louis the Child beat.” Louis the Child is a Chicago-based duo conformed of Freddy Kennett and Robby Hauldren.

6. Producer The Pyrvmids gets wind of all of this and apologizes for “sampling” Louis The Child on Feb. 25.
