Drugs are legal in Ireland right now thanks to a temporary loophole in the law. The possession of ecstasy, ketamine, crystal meth and more than 100 other substances are no longer considered a criminal offense.
How is this possible? Well it follows a ruling in Ireland's court of appeal on the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977. The Act was ruled unconstitutional due to several additions that didn't pass through the Irish parliament.
The Dáil will pass emergency laws to make drugs illegal, but this won't come into play until Thursday.
