Although Techno is starting to gain popularity in the US dance music scene, you can't find many clubs that are solely dedicated to the scene. Detroit's own Terence Dixon has a created a GoFundMe page to combat this problem in hopes of opening a new nightclub, ‘Minimal Detroit Lounge'.
The techno artist states that most Dj's who want a career in techno have to travel overseas to perform. He hopes to open the club by May 23rd, around the time of Detroit's Movement festival. Dixon has plans to bring in artists like Thomas Fehlmann, DJ Pierre, Paul Leighton Johnson, Jell Mills, Claude Young Jr, Richie Hawtin, and already has Juan Atkins confirmed as a resident DJ.
Although his goal of $2,000 has already been reached, check out Terrence Dixon's GoFundMe page here for more info on the club and how you can donate further.
