Jordy Dazz Talks ‘Disco Nights’ In EDM Sauce Interview

Jordy Dazz, a once college drop out turned DJ/Producer has conquered a long and winding road enroute to his global accession. He continues to shine with his original productions, remixes and ‘Dazz-ups' that truly set him apart from other DJ's and producers with his signature sound and style. He also puts out a ‘Dope & Dirty' monthly podcast, along with touring the globe, keeping him busy at all times. I was fortunate enough to ask Jordy a few questions about his latest release ‘Disco Nights', along with many others.

Disco Nights' was released about a month ago and was very well received by fans as well as on the charts. It also received a lot of support from DJ's around the World. Jordy said he wanted to make a track that had a lot of the elements in which his “sound” is known for. He really wanted to focus on the groove and give the listener something to grab onto, and I think he did an excellent Job in doing so. The vocals in the track in combination with the drums really created an atmosphere that Jordy thought works well on the dance floor.

One really cool thing about Jordy is his relationship with his fans and how connected he is with them. With the release of ‘Disco Nights', he put together a project called ‘#DiscoNights' which he talks about below.

“For Disco Nights we called on my fans to curate a fan inspired video. It was pretty cool to see the response and see how people celebrate their Disco Nights in their own way. We had people send in footage of them partying at clubs, festivals, bedrooms, convenience stores. It was a nice way to connect with the audience and I think it highlighted that any night can be a Disco Night and the party can happen wherever you want it to happen. It was a lot of fun and a great way to connect with the people that matter most, the fans. I think connecting with my fans is the backbone of my career as an artist. I’m always trying to connect and share some insight into my world. I’m working on something new that will give everyone a peek into my studio and how I make music. Stay tuned to my Facebook page for more information on that”

As far as what Jordy is currently working on, his newest collaboration with Cobra Effect called, ‘The Limit' will be out sometime in June. The track was premiered by Calvin Harris at EDC NY and is to be released on his ‘Fly Eye' label. The track was also featured in episode 219 of Hardwell On Air.

“The response so far has been amazing. It was a lot of fun working with Cobra Effect, they are an amazing talent and our styles complimented each other really well on this collaboration”

Despite a crazy tour schedule, and producing tracks, Jordy manages to find some time to relax.

“Summer time is a busy time for me, I am really looking forward to Tomorrowland in Belgium. There isn’t much spare time in the summer, but when I need to relax I like to game, I am a big gamer. I have a projection screen at my place that makes me feel like I am playing video games in a movie theater. It’s a nice way to decompress and take your mind away from music and touring”

Besides his latest original track ‘Disco Nights', Jordy put out a remix of Nervo‘s ‘It Feels'. Needless to say, he was more than excited to take on the track.

“When NERVO asked me to remix the track I was really excited. I am a big fan of theirs and love how talented they are as DJs, Producers and songwriters. For this particular track I wanted to highlight the beauty of the vocal and add my flare to it. I wanted to make something groovy that worked on the dance floor all while staying true to the original by capturing the beauty of the vocal. Overall we were all very happy with the remix, the response has been great!”
