The software program FL Studio is a favorite among many of the best producers in the world (like Calvin Harris) for being one of the best outlets for electronic music engineering. Although it is less forgiving with mistakes and melodic mishaps, the overall sound is renowned for being clear and crisp. FL Studio is truly a world of it's own – but for a long time it was not available to Mac users. That appears to be changing.
Ask Audio Mag reported this week that FL Studio is now being offered in a trial version and is in “alpha testing stage.” This means we could see the final product fairly soon.
“It is not a Windows application in disguise,” Scott from FL Studio (Imagine Line) told Atells us! Once you’ve done a merry dance in celebration, you can head over to the FL forums to test it out.
A screenshot below from Ask Audio shows the Mac version in action. VST/AU plug-ins won't work in this version and the scaling, drop-down, and MIDI input/output features are not available. However, it's a big step in the right direction.
