Burning Man, located in Black Rock City, is a one-of-a-kind festival experience known for their variety of unique art installations. The cars placed in the playa themselves tend to be a major part of the week – in fact they are some of the best stages to see some of the most heralded artists at “the Burn.” This year, a new “Dance Music Zone” will give attendees a great opportunity to let loose with vehicles that meet “Level 3 sound.” This limited restriction gives the area more exposure to lounging. Art placement will be modified to accommodate the zone.
Burning Man‘s dance music zone will be about one mile away from “the man” that annually burns (5,340 feet to be exact). Porta potties will be available at the end of each “DMZ” (Dance Music Zone) as well. This likely means that more traffic will head to the area during their breaks and down time. Cars can party for longer than three hours in designated spots. However, some attendees may not be satisfied. This may limit the amount of electronic music in the playa since cars are free to roam – but cannot have level 3 sound.
