Calvin Harris has been experimenting with some new sounds this summer – after just releasing “How Deep is Your Love” with Disciples via Sony Music. Now, his highly anticipated collaboration with Dillon Francis is live on the internet – a preview of the forthcoming “This Mixtape is Fire” EP that Dillon is preparing to drop (expected release tomorrow). There's some pretty funny review on iTunes about people claiming their house literally burned down from the mixtape already. You can pre-order it here. The seven tracks will include a collab with Bro Safari, Kygo, Calvin, and another previously shared track with Skrillex.
“What's Your Name” is the second track “This Mixtape is Fire” and it's been teased quite a bit to this point – and the two have been sharing blurbs on their social media to make things even more interesting.
Starting with a memorable, classic piano lead that weaves in and out like a classic house track, the drop is signature moombahton. It might seem like this song has two parts, but it's clear the real genius of their collab is the melty transitions that make this one flow. The sound balance boggles back and forth in the build-up with a beautiful rise, leading to a bouncy “moombah” jam. Listen below.
“This Mixtape is Fire” comes out tomorrow.
