A few weeks ago I stumbled upon the remixer Panic City and I loved his tracks. I wanted our readers to have a taste of some of his works, so I asked Panic City to let us know his favorite remixes. Let me know what ya'll think!
1. The xx “Chained (Panic City remix)”
Panic City's most successful remix, he says that: “Although I don't like to pigeonhole myself into only producing a certain kind of sound, these type of tracks I make with the huge melodic saws never seem to fail me.”
2. Panic City “Anicent Aliens”
“I wanted to make something dark and spacey,” Panic City said about this complextro hybrid track. “…also I have a secret obsession with UFOs.” Not so secret anymore, I guess!
3. Chris Brown “Don't wake me up (Panic City remix)”
This was Panic City's first track signed under a big time music label. Purchase it here on itunes.
4. Fleetwood Mac “Dreams (Megaman & Panic City remix)”
This progressive track is a little unconventional – Fleetwood Mac definitely isn't what you think of when looking for electro. But it's just so beautiful. “I was going through tough times and this came on the radio… I just knew I had to remix it.” That intuition turned out to be right, since later this remix was heard by millions when Perez Hilton fell in love with it and posted it on his blog.
Panic City adds, “As of right now I'm finishing up a track called Shining Star. I'm working with my first song writer/vocalist so it should be a lot of fun. I'd say it's a cross between Avicii and Calvin Harris, two of my favorite producers at the moment.” This is to kick off his CD tour next month in California.
