Reports from the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin over the weekend revealed that Nocturnal Wonderland fest (formerly known as Nocturnal Festival) at San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore, CA was a success for the most part. There were no major incidents or deaths. However, the police were still busy on the 20th anniversary of one of Insomniac's most beloved home events. There were nearly 200 arrests.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Captain Stephen Dorsey reported 76 total arrests on Friday of the fest and 123 on Saturday. According to the report, most of the arrests were for people “trying to sneak in.”
With a number of fans caught trespassing and without a wristband, there were plenty of arrests for drug possession or trying to sell drugs. Although there was not a Sunday breakdown of the events, Dorsey would end up claiming about 200 arrests for the week in total.
With about 31,000 attendees on Saturday, this was by far the busiest day for officers on duty with nearly twice as many arrests. The crowds on Friday and Sunday were much more subdued in comparison.
“We have found this type of crowd to be very respectful,” Dorsey said. “They are constantly thanking us for their safety.”
