Over the weekend, Skrillex and Diplo of Jack Ü won big at the American Music Awards for their collaboration with Justin Bieber. However, still fresh from the recent tragedy on the Mad Decent Boat Party, humble words were exchanged during the course of the evening. Skrillex was approached by TMZ afterwards and per usual, he graciously offered a statement about the incident. A woman named Kaylyn Sommer went overboard and was not found. The FBI is currently investigating.
Skrillex told TMZ,
“…Something really awful happens and you have the rest of the people who paid like all of their money to have an amazing weekend…bad things happen all over the world. And it’s something that none of us ever foresaw or would’ve ever wanted to be a part of. It affected all of us so much and it’s not something that we want to be sensationalized…”
