Hardstyle is becoming strong here in America and Basscon is on top of it. Taking over the Hollywood Palladium, fans got the witness a first US appearance as well as welcome back others. Events like this show that when there is the music they love, people will come. Being the last Basscon event of 2015, fans came from all around to be here. Showcasing only the finest of hard dance music, it’s no wonder why these events are doing so well.
America’s very own Mekanikal and Crisis Era were the first to open the night. It’s a proud moment as our hard dance artists are playing in front of hundreds. Throwing in oldschool Showtek tracks like ‘Breakbeat Junkie’ was something I’m sure everyone enjoyed.
As Stephanie came on, it was only 10PM yet the crowd was already going. There’s just something about hardstyle shows that have such high energy and sense of community. It might just be the fact that we don’t have many hardstyle shows come around often, so when they do – everyone comes out. Hailing from Italy, Stephanie knows how to get the crowd going. Looking around and seeing not one body standing still just goes to show the energy of these events. Next up came Wasted Penguinz and these guys are no strangers to Insomniac events as they just recently played at Nocturnal Festival in September. Massive leads and euphoric emotions are expected with these two. The crowd got rowdier and the music became harder as the night went on.
Scantraxx frontman – the one and only The Prophet took on the night. Massive reverse bass throughout the set had all the die hards cheering. With the array of the laser show and heavy tunes destroying the dance floor, Basscon shows that hardstyle isn’t going anywhere. The night was soon near an end as Radical Redemption was set to close the night. Earlier on in the night he was seen roaming the crowds and taking pictures with fans as they eagerly waited for his set. If you’re unfamiliar with the rawstyle sounds – have no fear because Radical will soon introduce you. The heaviest kicks of the night spawning for the last hour as he took no survivors. Basscon came to a close as the fastest tracks of the night were upon the crowd. Hardstyle is certainly alive in America and Basscon knows it.
