Whether you're a Starscape festival veteran, or you attended your first Moonrise festival last year, you have one thing in common, you have absolutely fell in love with the biggest event Steez Promo puts on every year. Coming this summer, Steez will again be throwing their pride and joy of Moonrise Festival on August 6-7. Every summer, dance music fans from all over the country flock to Maryland to experience Moonrise in all of it's glory. The festival is known for incredible talent, fantastic production, and generally a wonderful vibe of friendliness between attendees. Since last years festivities ended, Moonrisers have been patiently waiting for the slew of artist that will be invading Maryland for the crazy weekend Steez has planned. The 2016 lineup has arrived, and it does not disappoint in the slightest.
Starting from the headlining acts, we have the biggest name on the bill. Bassnectar will be performing for the third straight year at Moonrise, and after last years headlining set, we can't imagine what he has in store. Along with him are house giants Tiesto and Zedd who have proven to the electronic community that they deserve all the glory that comes with headlining a major festival.
Moving farther down the poster, we see that close to all genres are represented on the Phase 1 lineup. Ultra legend and long time drum and bass producer Andy C will be taking care of the DnB duties for the weekend while dubheads will get to experience acts like Excision, Bear Grillz, and Flux Pavilion. Fans of house music will be happy to welcome acts like Tchami, Lost Kings, and Tritonal to the event and trance fans will have the chance to catch a set by Anjunabeats prodigy Ilan Bluestone. Finally, trap fans will have the pleasure of experiencing sets from NGHTMRE, Herobust, and Flosstradamus, and will be graced with some future bass as well thanks to Sam Gellaitry, Marshmello, and San Holo.
Another feature of the lineup this year is the aspect of live music. Moonrise did a fantastic Job with picking live acts who tend to translate well to EDM based crowds. Some of the live acts this year include STS9, Hermitude, Griz, Gramatik, and Emancipator. This live aspect will open up a feeling of diversity throughout the two days and will give fans a chance to see some instruments on stage along with the various types of DJ Equipment used.
All in all, we could not be more excited for Moonrise this year. The lineup is incredibly diverse and has something for fans from all corners of dance music. The best part about this announcement? It's only Phase 1. Be on the lookout for Phase 2 and get excited for what is in store for Moonrisers this year!
