Everyone remembers when Avicii premiered ‘Wake Me Up' at Ultra and it bombed like a lead balloon that was being flown by JFK Jr. Then all of a sudden it picked up an enormous amount of steam in the mainstream. Country successfully crossed over to the world of dance music. That being said there have been a lot of other less notable attempts at the same endeavor…the fact Kid Rock is still alive makes me seriously uncomfortable as he will eventually try his hand at this as well. Audien on the other hand has always been known for his mastery of several different subgenres of EDM. So when I heard he was releasing a track with Lady Antebellum I had some actual hope and not a ton of skepticism. ‘Something Better' was born and expectations were met. Now EDM Sauce favorites, Two Friends, have dropped their remix to Audien's ambitious crossover and it is nothing short of exceptional.
Two Friends already are known for incorporating live instruments into their production so this cross over track with powerful vocals seemed like the perfect fit. Their intro relies on the already solid vocals of the original but works in a background beat which beautifully builds tension along side the dueling male and female voices. This continues to build through filters until the drop which fits perfectly with Two Friend's signature style. Upbeat yet chilled out. This is the kind of track that was made for those late spring, early summer night time car rides. Windows down, warm air, cool breeze and good music narrating the life of the night. Two Friends are still killing the game, and this release only further proves their own unique style being cemented into the dance music scene. Check out the track below and down load that bad boy off of their Soundcloud.
