Felix Jaehn may only be 21-years-old, but what he lacks in age, he more than makes up for with his talent in the studio and behind the decks. The Hamburg native took a bit of an unexpected path on his way to reaching success, as he started out as a classically trained violinist from a young age. As he moved into his teenage years, Jaehn was involved in both youth orchestra and sports, and he eventually quit playing the violin to focus on playing sports before a twist of fate brought DJing into his life and inspired him to re-focus on music.
Since then, the German youngster has been on an absolute tear through the dance music world. Jaehn really began to make waves as 2014 turned into 2015 as a tropical house sensation, starting with his chart-topping remix of OMI's “Cheerleader” that has gone on to garner over 500 million streams worldwide across Spotify and SoundCloud and secure the top spot on the iTunes charts in over 55 countries, earning him the honor of being the first German artist in over 25 years to top the charts in America. He followed that up with an even better release – a modern-day re-make of Rufus and Chaka Khan's “Ain't Nobody,” enlisting Jasmine Thompson to deliver an impressive vocal rendition over his sun-soaked production, propelling him into a record deal with Universal Music.
In the waning months of 2015, the melodic house star took a break from the road to really focus on his production, releasing tracks like “Book of Love” and remixes of Alina Baraz and Galimatias' “Fantasy” that cemented his reputation as one of the most talented up-and-comers in the game right now. His tremendous year was punctuated with the release of his debut EP, Felix Jaehn, in the first month of 2016, which featured three of his own originals alongside remixes by Prince Fox and Phantoms.
Now nearly halfway through 2016, Jaehn has already continued his meteoric rise to stardom by bringing his signature brand of melody-driven house to renowned festivals, like Ultra Music Festival, and party destinations, like Ushuaïa Ibiza, where the German-based producer is scheduled for a slate of dates throughout the summer. He's not only been one of the most impressive touring DJs of the year so far, but he's also showed off his tremendous creativity by hitting the studio with the Dim Mak boss, Steve Aoki, and American Idol sensation, Adam Lambert, for their trop-pop anthem, “Can't Go Home.”
