Trance giants Above & Beyond are back at it again with their latest installment of their acoustic album series. Their first acoustic album premiered in January of last year, and showed the true music talent and diversity that the trio has. Featuring a lot of their biggest songs, the new side of the trio was highly applauded, and the few shows they did as an acoustic group along with countless other talented musicians were revered as some of the best musical experiences of the year. Songs such as “Sun & Moon”, “Thing Called Love”, and “Satellite” stole the show and worked perfectly with newer versions of their older hits, mainly coming from their period as Oceanlab and their 2006 album Tri State.
With all three having classical music training in their early lives, the acoustic project has given them the chance to show people the basis for their tracks. It has given fans insight into the early concepts and chords that have developed into A&B's most powerful anthems. Now that their 2nd acoustic album is out, they've had the chance to make new versions of the rest of their hits that were not featured on the first album, as well as many songs from their latest album We Are All We Need. This acoustic album definitely has more of a powerful, jazz fueled, funky feel than their last acoustic album, featuring tracks like “On My Way To Heaven”, “Black Room Boy”, and “Peace of Mind”. It's a beautiful project overall that will tear at your heart strings and push the tears from your eyes. It gives a wonderful look into the classical minds of Tony, Jono, and Paavo, and boasts the emotional undertones of their music as well, if not better than the first acoustic album. It's now available for streaming on Soundcloud, so take a listen below and enjoy the experience that is Above & Beyond Acoustic!
